Customer Reviews

5 out of 5 stars The best gaming switch ever!
Angel Gill

One of the best, cheapest solutions for combining Xbox 360, Wii, and PS2/3 connections. At this price ($8.00 [Prime]) they are a steal. I highly recommend it. In fact, so much so, that since my over a decade of thousands of purchases from Amazon, this is one of the VERY seldom times that I am taking the time to write a review. Not only will the gaming consoles look neat and organized, you will:1) Get better quality graphics for the Wii (480p),2) and almost as good quality for the PS2 (480i - PS2 limitation)3) unnoticeable picture quality difference for Xbox 360 than using HDMI (1080i vs. 1080p)Yes, even though the output is via Component connectors (green|blue|red -- white|red) you will NOT notice quality difference while playing the Xbox 360. However, there is a little trick that I discovered. In Xbox's Console Settings menu, DO NOT select "1080i" as the output option. Select "1080p" instead. Yes, I am aware that it is NOT HDMI, trust me, you will get 99.9% similarity to HDMI picture quality even with this Component output product.I am very particular with graphics quality and choose Bluray over DVDs any day due to 1080p quality, and even I was impressed with the results with this nifty switch.Oh, and not to mention the de-cluttering you'll do with this switch makes it so much better. Basically you'll see 8 cords...5 of them go to your TV's Component input, and the other 3 to the game consoles. The selector buttons are labeled as well as the cords that plug into your consoles, so you cannot mess up the connections. I mean it's so easy that even a caveman can do it!Anyhow, not to give the seller any ideas, but this price is really inexpensive for the convenience and the build quality of the product. I would have been willing to pay $15 for this without hesitation.Lastly, did I mention that I am very happy with this product? Well, if not, then just know that I am very happy and would recommend it to anyone--especially someone like me who has exactly those three gaming consoles that this was built for. It's almost as if the manufacturer had me and my convenience in mind when making this. :-)That is all! Happy shopping.... Read more ›

So no more game consoles in various rooms around the house. We have now put them all in the same area and can switch from one console to another with the push of a button. Worked out perfectly since we have play station 2, Wii, and xbox360. It even comes pre labeled. Really idiot proof and cheap.

5 out of 5 stars A very high quality adapter!

I'm setting up an entertainment center with a TV that only has one component input, and I wanted to have crisper graphics on my Wii and my PS2. I was hesitant about buying one of the switchless universal adapters because you supposedly can only have one console connected at a time with those, and generic component cable switches are pretty expensive. This Gigaware adapter is the best of both worlds, at an extremely reasonable price too. It seems well constructed, and is very simple to use. I definitely recommend this product.

5 out of 5 stars For the PS2 Owners out there...

Alright, I have a Wii, PS2, and a HDTV. With the regular cables, the games looked horribly stretched and pixelated, but with this I have to say I was VERY surprised with the difference. While it's not perfect HD, I'd say it's pretty close. Now for all the PS2 owners out there, I wanted to tell you that at first when I connected everything, the PS2 didn't work for some odd reason. At first, I had in my mind to return this thing back to where it came from. But I realized the problem wasn't the cable itself but the settings within the PS2.Make sure (with the stock composite cable plugged in or else you won't be able to see) to go to the Settings menu for the PS2 and set the video output settings from RGB to Y Cb/Pb Cr/Pr. If that is not the case, then you may have to actually return the item.

First I wanted to say that I really don't review something unless I feel like consumers really need real advice on purchasing an item, so for this one I am!Bought this after the HDMI went out on my PS3 Fat, the only good thing about it was the 2 day shipping. The component cables that come from the switch box are only 2 feet long and don't work at all with my entertainment system and TV (Vizio 70"). The switch box is basically hanging behind my entertainment system. I had issue with signal quality when switching between systems, to get the best screen resolution I had to hold down the selected systems button or I would get a consistent set of static lines (about 3" wide) running up and down the screen along with color issues. The screen quality would vary depending on if I had switched from another system or from the open signal position. The display issues were consistent though between all 3 system I selected. I feel as if I had just bought the regular style universal cables that it wouldn't have these issues as they cut out the system selection box. Quality on the PS3 and XBOX was close to what I would expect from components, but the Wii looked no different. I guess its true, you get what you pay for.

5 out of 5 stars Excellent product, wonderful price

This is a great little product that does exactly what we needed it to, for a fantastic price. We have a Wii and a PS3 that we use regularly, but we only have one set of input ports on the back of our TV. It was a pain to have to pull out the TV and fight with all the wires every time we wanted to swap gaming systems, so I looked around on Amazon and found this. I think it was around $6 when we got it. I read the reviews and figured we'd give it a try, and for $6, if it didn't work, no big deal. Came in in a timely manner and I hooked everything up (the cables fit each system perfectly). The picture quality is great from both the Wii and the PS3 and it's an easy press of a button to swap back and forth. I find it amusing that this wonderful piece of technology uses low tech buttons that kinda feel like those on a tape player (hard chunky plastic that clicks into place), but it works great, so no complaints. We've been using it for a couple of months now, and it's been wonderful. I'd highly recommend it to anyone who needs to hook up more than one of these systems to a TV with a single set of input jacks.
