5 out of 5 stars Spore, An awesome game!!
AlanK

Spore, is a game which everyone in the family has played. We love each level and enjoy creating our own creatures. We have different civilizations and societies. We have a good time moving through the different levels.

2 out of 5 stars Cool concept, but extremely repetitive

This game is an awesome concept, you start as a single-celled organism and evolve to a walking creature, a tribe, a city, civilization and then space power. Sounds impressive, right? The first couple times you play the game it is! How you play herbivore, carnivore, passive, aggressive impacts not only the responses of other creatures in the world, but the items that you receive to upgrade or "evolve" your organisms. The customization in this game is fun! But limited. You have a limited amount of "DNA points" that you use to select more or less expensive items such as claws, mouths, etc. for your creatures. With each item having different advantages and disadvantages. This is really fun in the beginning of the game, but gets frustrating when you can no longer add more parts to your creature or you face developer created creatures that have no "DNA point" cap. And unfortunately, by the time you get to the space stage of the game you are so overwhelmed by other creatures that there is no real end to the game. I've played through it multiple times but have never even come close to "winning" either by brute force or diplomatic trading.Overall this game is a really fun concept, but I feel frustrated and limited at nearly every stage of the game. I really wanted to like the game but it left a bad taste in my mouth. Plus it is developed by EA and requires registration and information gathering to play. Just so you know.

I don't understand why people don't like this game. It's fun, it's creative, and even somewhat challenging in a way. I love this game, I love how you gradually evolve, and it's just so much fun!!!!

1 out of 5 stars Great game, service needs work though

I read through hundreds of reviews saying this game is terrible and that people should spend their money elsewhere. I wanted to see what the whole thing was about so I bought it. I do not regret it at all. Very addictive and after an hour or two of frustratingly trying to get the game to run, I played till 4:00 in the morning. I like how you evolve and conquer other creatures but my favorite part is when you first start out as a cell. The only reason why I would not recommend this to EVERYONE is that the online servers don't work, the registration keys might not work either, and getting the game to start up everytime is a hassle. Don't get me wrong, I love this game but EA has to fix these issues.

My game came in a case, with the activation code on a sticker in the case, the game installed perfectly, and it all worked

The ability to make customized creatures and spacecraft in this game feels nearly unlimited and this alone makes the game worthwile. Wished the creature stage was longer and more complex, but it was quite enjoyable while it lasted. Hoping the sequel to this game improves the complexity and options of gameplay a bit more, but in the meantime I absolutely love the ease with which one can create.

5 out of 5 stars Best Game Ever

I love this game as it has alot of content and it is just so fun. I enjoy this game alot because it is alot like the Fable games witch I also enjoy. I would just like that if it always adds new content like parts and quests because the Space stage can get pretty boring. But overall it was a good buy.

4 out of 5 stars Good but EA/Origin licensing and servers ruin it.
Michael S. Jessop

At some point EA decided to tighten up their licensing and validation is done online. Now, the game will run if you are not connected to the internet or validated but it will not download all the shared material, neither can you share... and the servers go up and down like a yo-yo. The game itself is fun, but after a few play-throughs you will find that the repetition is tiring.
